Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe 'shackled like caged animal'

Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe detained

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was transferred from Evin prison to Imam Khomeini hospital on Monday, where her husband confirmed she is being held by the Revolutionary Guard.

"Hopefully her transfer to hospital means that she is getting treatment and care, despite my distrust of just what pressures can happen behind closed doors".

The case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has roiled Britain's relations with the Islamic republic since her 2016 arrest and subsequent conviction on sedition charges she denies.

In 2017 Boris Johnson, his rival to turn out to be Conservative leader and prime minister apologised after asserting that Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe became as soon as in Iran "instructing of us journalism" - without reference to her family's insistence she became as soon as there to discuss over with relatives.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe is a project manager with the Thomson Reuters Foundation - the global media group's philanthropic arm - but was in Tehran on a private visit to her family. The practice of political prisoners being guarded by Revolutionary Guard Cops rather than the regular prison guards seemed an unusual practice to Nazanin's relatives, who further raised serious concerns over her health.

But he added that the involvement of the Revolutionary Guard - a branch of Iran's Armed Forces - highlights how his wife is a "pawn in a political game". Her husband, Richard Ratcliffe, also went on a hunger strike in London.

Mr Ratcliffe joined the hunger strike in solidarity with his wife, and camped on the pavement outside the Iranian Embassy in London.

The detention conditions Zaghari-Ratcliffe has described to her family over the phone "are completely contrary to worldwide norms", he added.

Her father tried to visit her there but was repeatedly denied access by the guards, who also prevented him from calling his daughter, Ratcliffe said. "I just hate it", Nazanin added.

She was sentenced to five years for allegedly trying to topple the Iranian government. "It is unnerving when we don't know what is going on".

She thought that to refuse the transfer to hospital could have been used by the Iranian authorities as evidence she had denied the medical treatment she has always been demanding - including on the two hunger strikes this year.

Earlier this three hundred and sixty five days, global secretary and Tory management hopeful Jeremy Hunt granted Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe diplomatic protection in a tell to resolve her case.

Ellie Kennedy, Amnesty International UK's individuals at risk campaigner, said: "Yet again, the fear must be that the Iranian authorities are playing games with Nazanin's health and wellbeing".

Foreign Office minister Andrew Murrison told Parliament the government is anxious Zaghari-Ratcliffe may face abuse and be forced to sign a bogus confession.

According to the BBC, her father visited the Tehran hospital Tuesday, but was not allowed to see her.

"We can proceed to name for her free up at the excellent ranges".
