Actor Danny Trejo saves trapped baby from overturned car

Danny Trejo

One of Hollywood's best-known villains, Danny Trejo, came to the rescue of a baby that was trapped in an overturned vehicle in Los Angeles.

Trejo and another bystander then worked together to save the child.

Actor Danny Trejo has appeared in dozens of action films, and that repertoire may be why he had no problem springing into action after he says he witnessed a two-car collision in Sylmar Wednesday afternoon.

According to Trejo, "The only thing that saved that little kid was his auto seat". Another bystander, a young woman, got in from the other side of the vehicle and was able to undo the buckle, allowing Trejo to get the baby safely out of the auto.

Trejo said that while the firefighters were working to free the woman, he was trying to distract the boy from the scene.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed there were minor injuries in the incident, with three people being transported to a nearby hospital.

Trejo helped rescue a child trapped in an overturned vehicle after a collision at a Los Angeles intersection. The roll over crash took place at approximately 3:00 p.m. PST, and local news outlet ABC7 was on the scene to get details from Trejo himself.

Explaining that he works with special needs children, Trejo instinctively knew how to keep him calm.

"He was panicked and I said "its okay, we have to use our superpowers". "We got kind of, like, a bond, I guess".

He is best loved for playing character Machete in several Robert Rodriguez movies.

He also told the said that "everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else".
