Disney is taking on Netflix with its streaming service coming in Canada

Disney Plus: First Global Markets Get Launch Dates, Pricing

The California-based entertainment giant says November 12 marks the global launch of the service, starting with the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands.

In Australia and New Zealand, it will cost A$8.99 (US$6.09) per month (US$89.99 per year) and NZ$9.99 (US$6.41) per month (US$99.99 per year), respectively.

The arrival of Disney+ to these countries marks the beginning of Disney's global rollout plans for its streaming service, with the company expecting to be live in "most major global markets within the first two years".

In Canada, it will be priced at C$8.99 (US$6.78) per month (or C$89.99 per year), while a subscription in the Netherlands will cost €6.99 (US$7.76) per month (€69.99 per year). That will be followed by a launch in Australia and New Zealand on November 19.

"Disney+ will launch in Canada and the Netherlands in tandem with the United States on November 12th, priced at $8.99CAD per month (or $89.99 per year) and €6.99 per month (or €69.99 per year), respectively", Disney said in a press release.

Like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other streaming services, Disney+ will use algorithms to target viewers and will have multiple user profiles.

Disney+ will feature an extensive library of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic content, including exclusive Marvel shows like Hawkeye, Loki, WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Solider, and What If...?

In addition to being the home of several Marvel-related series, Disney+ will also act as your portal to such original programming as THE MANDALORIAN, the LADY AND THE TRAMP reboot, DIARY OF A FEMALE PRESIDENT, and much more. At that time, it can also be purchased as part of a bundle with the ad-supported version of Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month. Let us know in the comments section below.
