Realme 5 May Include 64MP Quad Camera, Hints Company CEO

Realme’s 64MP quad-camera phone to be called Realme 5 launch set in China on August 15

While the future of smartphone imaging seems promising, especially for affordable and midrange phones, it is still debatable to judge camera performance based on its sensor's megapixel count.

The number "4" is often considered as unlucky in Chinese culture and could be the reason why Realme is directly jumping to 5. Oh yes! we expect to see the proper unveiling of the Realme 5 at the Indian event scheduled for tomorrow August 8. Even OnePlus famously skipped 4 and straight up moved to 5.

The upcoming Realme flagship is confirmed to have a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary camera, and is likely to be the world's first smartphone to offer that. However, Realme's rival Xiaomi was also in the headlines a few days ago as it was developing a smartphone with a 64MP sensor as well.

The event will probably discuss the 64MP sensor technology along with how it'll work on an upcoming Redmi smartphone and so on. Realme did not divulge any information about the other three sensors. However, according to a report, the smartphone will be announced in China on 15th August. Apart from their cameras, there's nearly next to nothing we know about either the Realme or Redmi device but it looks like the budget smartphone battle is once again about to heat up.

Xiaomi is expected to showcase its 64MP camera technology and not the actual smartphone that it will be launched later.

More details about Realme 5 is expected to arrive soon after the August 8 event in India.

Realme has also always been talking about a higher-end phone with a flagship-grade chipset, and the Realme 5 might just be the one to bring the Snapdragon 855 or the 855 Plus to their lineup.
