Apple expected to launch rumored AR headset, new budget iPhone in 2020

Apple's AR Headset Expected in Second Quarter of 2020

Apple could be set to launch a much smaller iPhone along with a pair of augmented reality glasses and an updated iPad Pro next year, according to industry rumors.

Apple first started the trend of $999 flagship device with the iPhone X. With the iPhone XS Max, the price increased to $1099.

The information comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo by way of 9to5Apple, which published a summary of the respected market watcher's Chinese-language report today.

Apple has already claimed that the iPhone 11 Pro Max delivers the "longest battery life ever in an iPhone", and says it offers five hours of more charge over last year's iPhone XS Max. These products, according to reports from CNBC, would be a more affordable iPhone device, which will be known as the iPhone SE 2.

These new cameras will be used for new AR applications which would tie in with the launch of the Apple AR Glasses which will happen next year.

Kuo expects Apple to team up with third parties to create the first batch of AR headsets, TheNextWeb reported on Wednesday. This sensor could be quite similar to the TrueDepth camera technology that is present in the iPhone and it will assist the iPad Pro in enhancing image quality and improving AR experiences. Based on these interpretations, one possibility is that you'll be able to buy the headset from both Apple and several other companies. He claims that the company will launch a new iPad Pro, with a rear 3D time-of-flight camera, in the first quarter of 2020.

Besides the new AR glasses, Kuo also predicted the launch of more Apple products. However, it's going to include an identical chipset because of the iPhone 11. We are yet to get a true consumer-focused AR headset that appeals to the masses, and Apple will definitely go for something that appeals to the wide range of iPhone customers.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said he considered AR less isolating compared with VR and as potentially revolutionary as the smartphone.
