Gurley (quad) doubtful vs. 49ers; Talib out

Todd Gurley Injury Status Updated Ahead Of Rams Vs. 49ers Game

Both players missed all three practices this week.

This is significant as today, Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters that Gurley is now day-to-day with a quad injury and didn't practice today.

"You feel something during the game and then I guess the adrenaline.", Gurley said Thursday, when asked about suffering the injury.

Plenty of Rams fans have questioned McVay for not using Brown or Henderson as much in the ground game to take some of the pressure off Gurley, but now it looks like they could finally see the two in action more come Sunday.

The 2018 49ers were 1-6, having just been shellacked, 39-10, at home by the Los Angeles Rams.

If Gurley is indeed out, it's likely veteran back Malcolm Brown will step in and carry the load out of the backfield. He's put up 270 rushing yards in five games and is on pace for a career-worst season. During the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl, Gurley was practically nowhere to be found and reports started to circulate that he had arthritis in his knee.

Here are the biggest causes for concern facing Los Angeles this weekend as Sean McVay's team takes on one of its biggest rivals. In addition to Gurley's uncertain status, the Rams also ruled out cornerback Aqib Talib.
