I was right to swap Madrid for Arsenal: Ceballos

Mendy during the 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain

DANI CEBALLOS has hinted he wants to turn his Arsenal loan spell to turn into a permanent deal and revealed he is happy he left Real Madrid.

Only Nicolas Pepe (12) has created more chances for the Gunners in the league than Ceballos (9).

The 23-year-old joined Unai Emery's side on a season-long loan in the summer, and he has already made an impression on fans in north London, impressing with his passing and dribbling and opening his account for the club in their recent 4-0 win over Standard Liège in the Europa League group stage.

It is also so that the Spaniard does not regret his decision despite the new role of players before ruled out ones such as James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale: "My idea was clear from the first moment: to leave, to play, to enjoy football, because in the last two years I had not done this and I have succeeded in going to Arsenal".

"I'm at Arsenal right now and I feel very good", Ceballos told reporters on Tuesday in Madrid, where the Spanish team are training.

Ceballos' future beyond this season looks set to be with his parent club, but the midfielder insists he needed to move away from the Spanish capital to start enjoying his football again after a frustrating two years with Los Blancos.

"Right now I'm where I want to be, and I am very happy".

Moreno has selected the midfielder in the squad to face Norway and Sweden in Euro 2020 qualifying fixtures on Sep.

"I know what I have in my head and that was to play and enjoy".

Ceballos could play alongside Sergio Busquets for Spain during this round of internationals, which he'd be delighted to do. In spite of having a lot of experience, he still shows the ambition of a youngster, the ambition makes him different from the others.

'Our objective is to achieve the European Championship in the absolute best circumstances.
