President Trump: Worst of the worst ISIS members now in USA custody

Trump Says U.S. Holds ‘Most Dangerous’ Islamic State Terrorists in Syria

The two British Isis members accused of involvement in the beheading of western hostages are being taken to Iraq by the U.S. military as the Turkish offensive in north-east Syria gets into its second day.

Alexanda Amon Kotey, left, and El Shafee Elsheikh, who were allegedly among four British jihadis who made up a brutal Islamic State cell dubbed "The Beatles", speak during an interview a year ago with The Associated Press at a security center in Kobani, Syria.

TWO men from London suspected of being part of a Daesh execution squad known as the Beatles have been taken from Syria into U.S. custody.

Two of Emwazi's British mates, Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh, had been in custody of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.

Trump announced Wednesday that, as Turkish troops were invading northeastern Syria, the United States was taking over custody of "some of the most unsafe ISIS fighters" from the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Turkey began an offensive Wednesday targeting Kurdish forces in northern Syria - military action for which Trump has been heavily criticized for allowing.

The two are understood to be part of a larger group moved by the U.S., with some reports saying it numbered around 40 Isis fighters.

He claimed the British government's decision to strip them of citizenship was "illegal", exposing them to "rendition and torture", Elsheikh said, "being taken to any foreign land and treated in anyway and having nobody to vouch for you".

A British IS fighter has spoken to ITV News from a prison in Syria.

Trump has shifted his position repeatedly on the detainees since Sunday night when he effectively gave the Turks the green light to invade the Kurdish-controlled part of Syria, suggesting initially that Turkey might have to take responsibility for them.

"They are the worst of the worst!"

The Kurds, who helped defeat the terror group in Syria and were key United States allies in that fight, guard thousands of IS fighters and their relatives in prisons and camps in areas under their control.

The other members of the Beatles group included leader Mohammed Emwazi, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in 2015. It is not clear how many prisoners are involved in the transfer. However they verbalize they had been among a extremely little workers of ISIS contributors who knew Emwazi's appropriate identity, first reported in The Washington Put up in early 2015.

But they are only two of hundreds of ISIS fighters considered still extremely risky.

The Justice Department said it will try Elsheikh and Kotey in federal court in Virginia.

At one point, Kotey said, a Syrian prisoner was shot in the back of the head in front of the European prisoners, who were made to hold signs saying they wanted to avoid a similar fate.
