Real Madrid president Perez wants Eriksen Zidane prefers Pogba

Tottenham Hotspur fans react to latest reports about Christian Eriksen

Real Madrid want to sign Christian Eriksen in January, but they'll first have to get past Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and manager Zinedine Zidane have their eye on different solutions to their midfield problem, according to ESPN.

The French midfielder is willing to quit Manchester United, which is a major motivation for Zidane and in a few months' time, the decision of whom to sign will be made.

Injuries in midfield have hampered Madrid this season and sources have told ESPN FC Perez believes an offer of €30 million for the Denmark global could be enough to seal the deal in January.

Bayern prefer a move in the summer window as Eriksen's contract with last year's UEFA Champions League finalists will have run down by then and he can be signed on a free deal.

While Eriksen is one of a number of stars - including Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld - who could jump ship from struggling Spurs, who conceded ten goals in two matches before the global break.

Despite having been told by Perez that United refuse to sell the player, Zidane is unconvinced as he believes his compatriot has a strong desire to make the switch to the Bernabeu.

One of the clubs that has remained linked with Eriksen throughout the saga has been Madrid, who spent a significant amount of money over the summer but didn't succeed in bringing an attacking midfielder to Spain.
