Ryan Hilinski leaves with left knee injury after roughing the passer hit

South Carolina Hosts Tennessee to Kick Off 2019-20 Season

The unranked South Carolina Gamecocks stunned the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs with a 20-17 victory in Athens.

Fromm tossed another interception in overtime, though the Gamecocks missed the subsequent field goal to win the game. But his inability to move the ball in overtime led to scoring zero points in either of the two extra periods.

The play occurred in the third quarter with SC up 17-10 over the third-ranked Bulldogs.

SC had a chance to pull off a stunning upset and had a mobile quarterback under center.

Predictably, kicker Parker White missed the long attempt, setting up Georgia in excellent shape to try and drive down the field and win the game.

The Gamecocks still aren't sure about the status of Ryan Hilinski moving forward after the freshman left the game with an apparent knee injury.

Luckily for Muschamp, Georgia coach Kirby Smart made a similarly questionable decision of his own, opting to run a play with eight seconds left in field goal range and ultimately getting a penalty, moving the Bulldogs back to the 43-yard line. SC then had a chance to win in regulation, but inexplicably tried a 57-yard field goal on 4th & 3 from the Georgia 40 with 40 seconds remaining.

Georgia was able to get to overtime after a questionable decision by SC head coach Will Muschamp.

Hilinski, who had taken several hard hits after throws on the afternoon, had thrown a short pass to senior receiver Bryan Edwards when outside linebacker Adam Anderson appeared to trip and fall into Hilinski's legs.

Georgia trailed 17-10 before tying the game late in the fourth quarter. He was attended to by trainers and was eventually helped off the field. Dakereon Joyner has since come on in replacement.

Georgia: The Bulldogs will play another home game against an SEC East rival when Kentucky visits on Saturday.
