Titans expected to sign former Bears kicker Cody Parkey

Bills-Titans Preview

The news comes on the heels of the Titans releasing Cairo Santos, who had been handling the team's kicking duties for the first five weeks of the season.

It is good to see that the front office and coaches weren't afraid to make the move here and fans know that if Santos is ideal during his two games in Nissan Stadium (or if he just misses one on Sunday) then Tennessee would be sitting at 4-1 instead of wallowing in the pits of despair at 2-3.

The road-tested Bills got their third win away from home Sunday, 14-7 over the Tennessee Titans.

Santos missed kicks of 50, 36, 53 and 33 yards against the Bills. He has converted 108 out of 134 field goals and 161 out of 167 extra point attempts in his National Football League career.

"It was a very painful, extremely disappointing day", Santos, 27, said per the team's official website. According to Ian Rapoport, Tennessee is expected to sign former Chicago Bears' kicker Cody Parkey. The 0-fer moved Santos to 4-for-9 on the year.

As of right now it hasn't been released on who will be replacing Santos or David Quessenberry who was also released today.

Santos had been signed September 4 when they put veteran Ryan Succop on injured reserve, a move created to let Succop gain strength after having surgery this offseason on his kicking leg. Succop remains three weeks away from being eligible to be activated off injured reserve.
