UK to publish no-deal plans as gloom surrounds Brexit talks

London, Oct 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) A Downing Street source has said that a Brexit deal was "essentially impossible" after a call between UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a media report said on Tuesday.

The German government confirmed that Merkel and Johnson had spoken but declined to comment on the substance of "confidential conversations".

The further spokesman rejected Tusk's blunt accusation that Johnson was playing "some stupid blame game" by having his office leak the detail of private talks.

He accused the prime minister of engaging in a "stupid blame game" and stressed that what is at stake is the future of Europe and the United Kingdom as well as the security and wider interests of citizens.

'You don't want a deal, you don't want an extension, you don't want to revoke, Quo vadis?' The Polish politician also wrote, in a direct message to the head of the British Executive, asking for more clarity about his plans.

"If his ideas are limited to what he presented to the negotiator (Michel) Barnier five days ago, it means that he doesn't actually want an agreement", Sassoli, an Italian, told reporters, speaking through a translator in London.

Following a call between Boris Johnson and Angela Merkel, a No 10 source has said that a Brexit deal is "essentially impossible". In a scathing intervention, Mr Juncker said: "I do not accept this "blame game" of pinning the eventual failure of the negotiations on the EU".

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was among the main pro-Brexit figures before the 2016 referendum and has remained a staunch believer that an exit from the European Union will be beneficial to Britain.

With negotiations on the UK's departure terms from the European Union hanging precariously in the balance at a time when silence seemed golden, both sides broke the spell Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 when Tusk directly addressed Johnson on Twitter and gave him his fill about the fast crumbling Brexit negotiations.

A statement by Irish foreign minister Simon Coveney indicating that the British government was not committed to negotiating a Brexit deal also affected the pair.

Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay said the bloc needed to show "creativity and flexibility" ahead of October 31 - when Johnson has vowed to end the country's 46 years of European Union membership with or without an agreement.

Johnson vowed to take his country out of the European Union on October 31, with or without a deal.

They added: "Merkel said that the PM should tell Northern Ireland that it must stay in full alignment forever, but that even this would not eliminate customs issues".

Negotiations for a new Brexit agreement will continue this week.

He said that "people were thinking in Britain: "oh yeah, we can do a no-deal and then we go sitting around the table and we are going to talk about a future relationship and everything will be fine". His strategy from day one has been for a no deal Brexit.

The ComRes study for the Daily Telegraph found that just over half (56%) of voters would hold the Prime Minister responsible if Brexit does not take place by the October 31 deadline.

Clarity is needed over our future trading relationship with our closest neighbours, and it is vitally important that Britain does not leave the European Union without a deal'.
