Heavy fighting between Syrian and Turkish troops

Erdogan attends a news conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest Hungary

A meeting was held in the capital Ankara between Turkish and US delegations headed by Deputy Defense Minister Yunus Emre Karaosmanoglu and Jeffrey, said a ministry statement.

Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu made the comments on Friday, days after Ankara insisted that suspected members of the extremist group held by Turkey would be returned regardless of home countries revoking their citizenship.

The minister had previously said Turkey is "not a hotel" for foreign IS members.

It should be remembered that Turkey had begun operation at the border connected with Syrian rebels, so they may be helped by removing Kurdish YPG groups from the area.

Earlier this week, Soylu said Turkey had almost 1,200 foreign members of Daesh in custody, and had captured 287 during its recent operation in northern Syria.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the man was run over in the village of Sarmasakh near the border by a Turkish vehicle during a joint patrol with Russian Federation.

The Observatory said the man died in the hospital in the town of Derik from internal bleeding and broken bones.

"The Hungarian government appears to perceive Turkey as an emerging, key geopolitical player, not only in Syria but also in southeastern Europe and the broader Middle East", said Daniel Hegedus, an analyst with the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

Turkish police arrested 17 foreigners yesterday suspected of ties to IS, state news agency Anadolu reported. It claimed the patrols ended up being supported by drones, however supplied no even additional particulars.

Turkey, along with Syrian opposition paramilitary organizations, has been conducting an offensive against Kurdish milicias in Syrian territory in the provinces of Aleppo and Hasaka since October 9. Syrian government forces have since clashed with Turkish troops and Turkey-backed opposition fighters, despite a shaky truce brokered by Russian Federation.

However, Turkey has recently charged that the Kurdish militia didn't withdraw from certain areas near the Turkish border as planned, which explains the renewed fighting between the Kurdish militia and the Turkey-backed rebels.
