'I was appalled': Black customers say restaurant host told them to move

Police Buffalo Wild Wings employee shoots at customer and restaurant as he drives away

"Buffalo Wild Wings values an inclusive environment and has zero-tolerance for discrimination of any kind".

"This is a ideal opportunity for Buffalo Wild Wings to be a good corporate citizen", the group's attorney, Cannon Lambert, told reporters.

Lambert said Tuesday that this was a start - but that much more could be done. Speaking with reporters in Aurora, Vahl said the host asked him "what race he was" to which he responded "what does that matter?"

"I was appalled", Vahl said.

They made a decision to be seated anyway, but then were told they had to move because the seats they were given were reserved.

A few moments later, while Vahl and her group were trying to order, an employee came up to them and said that the seats they were in had been previously reserved and so they would have to move. Vahl wrote that she and her husband had to explain to their "young impressionable sons" that they "didn't get kicked out, but willingly CHOSE to leave because of the unfair treatment we were being given".

The Naperville Sun reports Buffalo Wild Wings spokeswoman Claire Kudlata said Sunday the company conducted a thorough internal investigation and "terminated the employees involved". As they were leaving he fired approximately six shots towards that person and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Lambert said Buffalo Wild Wings needs to take some steps to eliminate the possibility of this happening again.

"We're going into 2020 and we still have to deal with systemic racism", Justin Vahl said.

"We have been in direct communication with the group of guests to understand their account of what happened and have offered our deepest apologies for any unacceptable behaviour", the person said in a statement.

"It is Christian, it's spiritual to forgive, but as to whether or not we will go to Buffalo Wild Wings again, that's an open question", Lambert said.

"How is an establishment OK with serving people who try to control which types of people sit around them?!" "When we talk about being a good corporate citizen, we're talking about someone, something, and this entity has a platform and we're expecting them to use it".
