Vanna White Is Stepping Up During Pat Sajak's Recovery

"Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak is recovering Friday from emergency surgery to fix a blocked intestine, the show said in a statement.

In his absence, White will take a turn spinning the big wheel for the first time ever, starting with the episode taped Friday.

"Wheel of Fortune" is now shooting Disney Week at its Los Angeles studio. and our production sources tell us the person turning the letters will have mouse ears.in case you can't figure it out, we're talking Mickey Mouse!

'He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work. Taping resumed today and veteran sidekick Vanna White assumed the hosting duties.


Wheel of Fortune was forced to pull the plug on taping Thursday after Sajak was hospitalized with a blocked intestine.

This year she told Fox News: 'Believe it or not, Pat Sajak and I have only had one argument in 36 years and that was over putting ketchup on a hotdog'.
